I am a Georgia-based film critic, originally from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I earned my BA in English from Gardner-Webb University (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2018 and my MA in the Humanities, Cinema and Media Studies Track, from the University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) in 2019. I have a special interest in theories of spectatorship and the relationship between film and mental health. My master's thesis focused on subjectivity, narration, and the stereotypes of feminine madness in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why. I frequently contributes to Elements of Madness, a North-Carolina based site, and I am a member of the North Carolina Film Critics Association. I currently live in Georgia with my cat, Kiki.
